FAIRPORT LITTLE LEAGUE

FAIRPORT LITTLE LEAGUE

Baseball

Our Baseball divisions include players ages 4 through 16 - starting at T-Ball, through "real" baseball on a full size field (similar to what the MLB plays on) at the older ages. Younger ages hit off a tee, then progress to a pitching machine, then to player pitch. This helps the ballplayer by getting more consistent pitches to hit, so they can develop their swing. And the defensive players will see more action because there are more hits!

Our Spring season runs from April to late June (July for 13 and up leagues). Practices and games are generally Monday through Thursday, and Saturday (exact days of week depends on the division - see below). Note all schedules are tentative and will depend on league sizes.

All ages indicated are based on the player's age as of Aug 31, 2026

Sandlot (ages 4-5)

This league is an introduction into baseball with emphasis on FUN. Short, age appropriate stations are used to teach the fundamentals of throwing, catching, hitting, and running.

All practices/games are held early on Saturday mornings.

A Division (ages 5-6)

Highly instructional introduction to the fundamentals of playing a baseball game, focusing on how the game is played and the core skills of playing at the 5-6 year old level (9/2019 – 8/2021). Coach-pitch games will focus on hitting, field positions, and making defensive outs. Players will bat through a line-up. Outs will be called on base, but not counted. No score is kept. Outfield positions will be playing a separate game of catch.  Focus is on FUN and LEARNING.
